Jerry Cutini Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Mr. Jerry Cutini is a 25-year veteran of the semiconductor equipment industry with significant experience in multiple areas of management and a diverse portfolio of expertise in the sectors of mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and capital financing. He is the co-founder of Aviza and has been its president and CEO and director since the Company's inception in 2003. Mr. Cutini was appointed Chairman of the Board in November 2007. He was an original co-founder and board member of OnTrak Systems, where he eventually served as president from 1997 to 1998. In this role, Mr. Cutini helped organize the successful $400 million+ merger and integration between Lam Research Corp. and OnTrak in August of 1997. Subsequently, Mr. Cutini led Gasonics International's marketing and business development activities until Novellus Systems acquired Gasonics in 2001. Mr. Cutini has also held key positions at well-known industry companies including Applied Materials and Silicon Valley Group. Mr. Cutini currently serves as a member of the board of directors of SEMI North America. Prior to beginning his career in technology, he served in the U.S. Navy and Naval Reserve from 1978 to 1984.
Patrick C. O'Connor Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Mr. O'Connor has more than 30 years of corporate finance and management experience, mostly within the semiconductor equipment industry. He is the co-founder of Aviza and has been Aviza's executive vice president and CFO and secretary since the Company's inception in September 2003. Mr. O'Connor served as vice president and CFO of OnTrak Systems, Inc. at the time of its IPO in July 1996. After OnTrak's merger with Lam Research Corp. in 1997, Mr. O'Connor served as vice president of business process management until June 1998. Mr. O'Connor's consulting business, P.C. O'Connor Associates, was formed during July 1991 to provide management support to small entrepreneurial pre-public companies primarily in areas of manufacturing, accounting and other administrative activity. Prior to establishing his consulting business, Mr. O'Connor spent 12 years at Silicon Valley Group, Inc., where he held key management positions such as vice president of operations, senior vice president of corporate development and vice president of worldwide service and quality. Mr. O'Connor previously worked for II Industries, Inc. (later a division of Eaton Corp.) and Price Waterhouse & Co. Mr. O'Connor holds a bachelor's degree in business and accounting from San Jose State University and received his CPA license in 1972.
John Macneil Ph.D. Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer (CTO)
Dr. Macneil has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor industry. He is Aviza's Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer and a director, and has served in that capacity since December 2005. From July 2004 to December 2005, Dr. Macneil served as President and Chief Executive Officer and a director of Trikon Technologies, Inc. Dr. Macneil joined Trikon in 1996 as metallisation manager and became Vice President of Engineering in 1999, taking responsibility for product design and development. In July 2004, Dr. Macneil was appointed President and Chief Executive Officer. Prior to joining Trikon, Dr. Macneil served in various technology positions at Motorola and held senior technology positions in a number of research-driven organizations both in the United Kingdom and in the United States. Dr. Macneil earned a Ph.D. in Solid State Physics from Leicester University in 1983 and earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Cardiff University in 1996.
John Villadsen Vice President, Worldwide Operations
Mr. Villadsen has 23 years of experience in managing manufacturing operations and global customer service organizations. Before joining Aviza Technology, Mr. Villadsen served as vice president of operations at VA Software, where he was responsible for professional services and customer support of SourceForge, an enterprise software package intended to manage and optimize distributed software development. Prior to VA Software, Mr. Villadsen served as vice president of manufacturing operations at Gasonics International Corporation, a supplier of photoresist and residue removal technologies, which was acquired by Novellus Systems in 2001. Mr. Villadsen's previous work experience also includes several senior management positions with Watkins-Johnson Semiconductor Equipment. Mr. Villadsen holds a bachelor's degree in education from California State University, Fresno.
May Su Vice President and General Manager, ALD and Thermal Business Unit
Ms. Su has more than 20 years of experience in the semiconductor capital equipment industry, including numerous senior positions in engineering management, sales and marketing. During her tenure at KLA-Tencor, she held management positions that included vice president of corporate marketing and also vice president/general manager of KLA-Tencor's automation and standards division. Previously, she worked for Lam Research Corp., where she held several management positions including: general manager of dielectric etch products, director of marketing, Pacific Rim strategic sales manager and director of Lam's 300-mm program. Ms. Su holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Cornell University, a master of science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Berkeley and a master of business administration from Santa Clara University. She has also completed Stanford University Executive Management Training.
Kevin Crofton Vice President and General Manager, PVD/CVD/Etch Business Unit
Mr. Crofton has 15 years of experience in semiconductor capital equipment market. Prior to joining Aviza, Mr. Crofton served as Senior Vice President of Customer Operation (Sales, Marketing and Service) at NEXX Systems, where he was responsible for establishing targeted account penetration strategies for the company's PVD and Plating product line. Before joining NEXX Systems, he held the position of Vice President and General Manager of the Advanced Packaging and Automation Systems Division at Newport Corporation. Rounding out his semiconductor capital equipment experience, Mr. Crofton served as Managing Director and General Manager of the Chemical Mechanical Planarization/Clean Products Group at Lam Research Corporation. He has also held various positions at Lam Research, including Senior Director of Product Management and Product Support for Lam Research's conductor etch product lines. Mr. Crofton has a bachelor's degree in aerospace engineering from Virginia Tech, and a master's degree in international business from American University.
Michael Martinez Vice President, Worldwide Corporate Marketing
Mr. Martinez has more than 17 years of broad-based high technology experience in marketing leadership and general management positions. He was most recently vice president of worldwide marketing for Photronics, Inc. Prior to joining Photronics, Mr. Martinez was corporate vice president of the Silicon Valley public relations firm MCA. His previous experience also includes various marketing management positions at Electronic Data Systems, Lam Research, OnTrak Systems and Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International (SEMI). Mr. Martinez holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering and applied mathematics from the University of Redlands with additional executive education at the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He has authored numerous business articles for industry publications and has been a featured speaker at industry forums, technical conferences and university programs.
