POSITION SUMMARY:

Performs the installation, modification, testing and servicing on all internal/in-house data communications network equipment. Assists in the recommendation for improvements and the development of technical standards.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Provide administration, installation, maintenance and support of multi-platform/multi-server/multi-application environment including networks, switches, routers, servers, systems and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties



• Experience using and maintaining network, server and application monitoring systems



• Maintain meticulous documentation of network, servers



• Affect recovery procedures following outages or server interruptions



• Maintain Visio diagrams of all network, servers, and systems infrastructure



• Complete scheduled maintenance for multi-platform network including patches, service packs and updates



• Maintains network operating systems and hardware to the most current approved levels



• Assist with planning, implementation and maintenance of network security, including building firewalls, applying cryptography to network applications, managing host security, file permissions and file system integrity through extensive knowledge and experience in intrusion prevention and detection



• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned including assisting computer technicians, programming division and management as required



• Responsibilities may include travel to remote sites

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• BS Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or related field



• 5+ years experience in Network Administrations, MSCE, CCNA certification preferred



• 1+ years experience working with windows 2003 and Active Directory



• Experience must include system analysis and support within a Windows environment



• Knowledge of communications and e-mail protocols is necessary
